Purpose
• System wide operational group covering the whole of Suffolk including Waveney to share
oversight, information and coordinated dementia related activity.
• Bringing together the voices and experiences of those living with dementia and their
carers into system wide discussions to influence and effect change.
• Focus on Suffolk Dementia Strategy priorities and feed into the Strategic Dementia
Group
• Share best practice and new initiatives to inform best /new ways of working
• Share information, awareness of local resources, future events and relevant education
with those living with dementia and their carers
• A platform to identify and discuss local issues and possible solutions, highlight unmet
needs and areas for improvement, development or research
• Raise appropriately identified issues with the Suffolk Strategic Dementia Group and
provide feedback to the forum.

Membership
• Open to all including people who have a personal and /or professional interest in
supporting people affected by dementia including system wide operational
colleagues, VCFSE, businesses, people with dementia and their carers.
Frequency of Meetings
• The forum will meet quarterly usually on teams with opportunity given to meet face to face once or twice a year if the group agree this will be useful.

Reporting/Accountable to:
The chair of the Suffolk Dementia Forum will attend quarterly Strategic Dementia Group Meetings to provide an update on behalf of the dementia forum. As the current Dementia Support Service provider in Waveney, Alzheimer’s Society will represent the Dementia Forum in system-wide discussions within the Waveney area.
